Railway Traction
After graduating, I eagerly joined Lenz Labs as the fifth employee, embracing the role of an Electromechanical Engineer and contributing to the development of their groundbreaking Traction Hub technology. This Edinburgh-based start-up is dedicated to eliminating the persistent challenge of low adhesion caused by leaves on rail lines.
Within my role, I assumed a key responsibility in the design process of their First-of-a-Kind Traction Hub. Leveraging SolidWorks, I created intricate 3D models and conducted ANSYS simulations to optimize its performance. Additionally, I helped manage end-to-end project workflows encompassing prototyping, manufacturing, and seamless installation onto the Mk. 3 DVT.
Another significant accomplishment involved crafting a product technical specification for a Wheel Slide Protection system, enabling dynamic testing of the Traction Hub. Alongside this, I designed comprehensive system diagrams, engineered PCBs. This meticulous approach enabled efficient sourcing and manufacturing, while ensuring strict adherence to functional and safety requirements.
